MyKavo for Chrome: Free SEO Checker and One-Click Website Monitoring

Most SEO extensions answer one question: what is wrong with this page right now? That is useful, but it is only half the job. The page that passes every check today can lose its title, pick up a stray noindex or drop its analytics tag next Tuesday, and no extension sitting in your toolbar will tell you.

MyKavo for Chrome does both halves. Click it on any page and you get an instant SEO check, free and without an account. Press Protect on a site you own and MyKavo keeps watching it in the cloud, so you hear about the change that breaks it, not just the problems it has today.

What the extension does#

It has two jobs, and you can use the first one forever without ever signing up:

  1. Check any page in one click. 17 on-page SEO checks, a score out of 100, and a plain fix for everything that isn't right.
  2. Protect a website. Connect the site you're on to MyKavo monitoring, which checks it on a schedule and alerts you when something important changes.

The instant check: 17 things in about a second#

Click the MyKavo icon on any page and the extension reads it and reports on:

  • HTTPS and mixed content (insecure http:// resources on a secure page)
  • Indexable: whether a noindex directive is keeping the page out of search results
  • Meta refresh redirects, which should be real 301s
  • Title tag: present, only one, and a sensible length
  • Meta description: present and between roughly 70 and 155 characters
  • Canonical: one absolute canonical, and whether it points at this page or somewhere else
  • H1 heading: exactly one
  • Mobile viewport
  • Language (the lang attribute on the page)
  • Favicon
  • Open Graph tags for link previews (title, description and image)
  • Twitter card
  • Structured data: whether there is JSON-LD and whether it actually parses
  • Image alt text
  • Content depth: whether the page has enough visible text to rank
  • Internal links, including internal links wrongly marked nofollow

Each result says what it means and what to do about it, with issues first. The score is simple on purpose: a failed check costs a full point, a warning half a point, and 100 means everything passes.

Your page stays in your browser#

The check runs locally, in your browser, on the page you already have open. The page you check is never sent anywhere. The extension only reads a page when you click its icon, and it has no content scripts running on the websites you visit.

Protect: from one check to continuous monitoring#

A check tells you about today. Monitoring tells you about the change that happens next week, which is the one that costs money: the plugin update that rewrites your titles, the theme change that hides the add-to-cart button, the deploy that drops your analytics tag.

When the page belongs to a website you own or manage, press Protect:

  1. MyKavo opens with the website already filled in.
  2. Sign in, or create a free account.
  3. Approve, and MyKavo starts monitoring the site in the cloud. Chrome doesn't need to stay open.

From then on MyKavo scans the pages you choose against an approved baseline and watches for:

  • SEO changes: titles, descriptions, canonicals, noindex and redirects
  • Content and visual changes, with before-and-after screenshots
  • Broken links and missing scripts such as analytics, tag managers and payments
  • Performance regressions: page weight, request count and response time
  • Uptime and SSL
  • Conversion elements you choose, like a signup button, checkout or a form

When something important changes, you get an email with what changed, where, and how serious it is.

Your site's status, every time you visit#

Once a website is connected, the extension shows its status whenever you're on it: protected, needs attention or critical. Agencies get a quiet daily reassurance for every client site they open, and a loud signal on the day something is wrong.

Built for agencies and developers#

  • Right-click any page and choose Monitor this page with MyKavo to add it without opening the popup.
  • Scan now after a deploy, straight from the extension, then open MyKavo to review what changed. On-demand scans are part of the Pro and Agency plans.
  • One click to the full report. The extension is a quick view; the dashboard has the before-and-after detail, history and alert settings.

How to install it#

  1. Open MyKavo on the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Click Add to Chrome.
  3. Pin it from the puzzle-piece menu so the icon is always one click away.

It needs Chrome 116 or newer. More screenshots and details are on the MyKavo for Chrome page.

What it isn't#

The extension checks the one page you're on. It isn't a site crawler, and it doesn't replace a full audit. For site-wide checks, MyKavo's Site Audit crawls up to 150 pages per crawl on the free plan, and monitoring covers the pages you pick in the dashboard. If you want to check a page without installing anything, the free Meta Tag Checker on mykavo.app checks the core SEO tags of any URL.

Frequently asked questions

Is the MyKavo Chrome extension free?

Yes. The instant SEO check is free and needs no account. Monitoring a website also has a free plan: one website, five monitored pages and weekly scans. Pro and Agency add more websites, daily scans and on-demand scans.

Does the extension send the pages I check anywhere?

No. The SEO check runs locally in your browser and the page is never sent to MyKavo or anyone else. The address of a page is only sent when you press Protect or use the right-click action, so MyKavo can add that website to your account.

Does Chrome need to stay open for monitoring to work?

No. Monitoring runs on MyKavo's servers. The extension only starts it and shows you the status; your computer can be off.

Do I need a MyKavo account?

Not for the SEO check. You need a free account only to monitor a website, and you can create it during the Protect step.

Does it collect any data about me?

It sends anonymous usage counts, such as installed, opened or checked a page, with a random install id, and you can switch those off in the extension menu. It never sees or stores your MyKavo password.

How do I disconnect a website from the extension?

Open the extension menu and choose Disconnect. That removes the extension's access to that website; monitoring itself is managed from your MyKavo dashboard.

The bottom line#

Use MyKavo for Chrome as the fastest free SEO check you can run on any page. Then, on the sites that matter to you, press Protect once so the next problem finds you before your customers or Google do.
